Bareburger on Austin Street in Forest Hills, NY just gained a favorite rate from me for chocolate cake. Most flourless cakes are so solid that eating them is akin to eating a candy bar. This flourless chocolate cake was warm with a bing/sweet cherry sauce that invited one to eat at a leisurely pace. I had just taken my first bite and it seemed that my waiter was concerned that I didn’t like the dessert. When I explained I was just taking my time and trying to figure out the flavors, he relaxed and suggested a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Good choice!
I recommend Bareburger in general, but especially for this dessert that satisfied the desire for a sweet but did not leave that heavy cloying aftertaste that so often happens to ruin the end of a meal.
Keep up the good work!
